In 2008 I made the decision to move my familyaway from the UK for a period of time during my son’s first years. This was a personal choice because when I was working fulltime in the UK, my social calendar was almost non-existent with 16-hour working days (and frequent weekends). I am passionate about my career, but I needed space – a longer break with my family.
As I continue my sabbatical away from the UK, I have spent time with them and had time for some freelance work (both home and abroad) in addition to creating personal projects. My 2010 portfolio reflects just that. A mixed bag of personal short films, commercials, corporate films and music video promos.
As I near the end of my sabbatical, I would welcome a slight shift in my working career when I return back to the UK, concentrating on work in film and/or television. I may very well have to work as a runner again!
